I know... long time, no see.
As you can tell by the title, this isn't a normal/conventional journal entry.
If you've commissioned an artist by the name of Nina-Mandarina and didn't receive what you "ordered", then you may want to read this:
Back in June (2014), I commissioned an artist on Deviant Art.
I paid the artist and was told that my commissions would be ready by the end of June.
The end of June passed, so did July. I sent a 'note' on August 6th.
The reply that I had in return was that, the artist was going travelling between the 9th and 19th and, it would be finished after that date.
Weeks passed. I didn't hear anything.
In late October, I went onto the artist's DA page. The last time that she had signed in was six weeks before then. It was then that it was looking less likely that she was going to produce any work... but I (foolishly) believed that she could still "come through" and "produce the goods".
28th December I decided to check out her page again. She (by now) hadn't signed in for fifteen (plus) weeks.
It was then that I realized, that it wasn't just me who had been ''duped'' out of money.
As of now, she hasn't been on DA for 19 weeks...
So, what now?
It doesn't look good. However, a couple of DA members have taken the initiative and, are trying to work out a solution.

GOOD NEWS UPDATE *WARNING*: Commission Fraud*UPDATE* February 7th, 2015: Opening a case with the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection lit a fire under Paypal's ass, and they refunded me for my missing commission!
Explanation of closure
Although PayPal acted in accordance with the User Agreement, we have issued a credit of $--.-- to your Account balance in an effort to resolve this matter and in hopes that you will continue to use our services for years to come. We offer our sincerest apologies for any difficulties you may have encountered while using our services. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns, or if I can be of further assistance to you.
Your complaint is regarding a request of a refund for a payment you made using your PayPal account because you state you had not received the item purchased. At the outset, it is important to note that you received a refund of $--.-- o
The reason that I have created this entry is because, I was contacted by another DA member (Sleyf), who also commissioned this artist and, explained how to open a dispute in the resolution center on the P/Pal site ^^.

An Artist to Avoid + Take Action*Edit 08-02-2015* - as suggested by knorfka I have filed a complaint with The Consumer Financial protection Bureau in the hopes of coming to some closure with this case. I would prompt anyone who has experienced something similar, to do the same - check out the results for yourself
With regard to my last journal, I have decided that it might be wise to name the artist to avoid - I also do this, as a plea to others who have commissioned her, as I have a plan of action that we can all take to move forward with this case.
I do not want anyone to harass this person. We're all adults and better than that, she is already hiding from dA, and seeing loads of aggression on her page will definitely not encourage her to come back - those concerned have already left her multiple comments requesting responses and are gathering to d
I did some calculations and figured out that the artist must've taken (about) $500 for the work that she hasn't done (and that's just the people that she had bothered to list on her 'to do' list... Who knows how many people there actually are who have commissioned her).
I think I'll leave it there. If you are one of those people, check out the 'linked' journals.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
EDIT: I've just checked my email and Paypal have told me that, because my claim is over the '180 day period'. They will not be looking into it.
So, either way, I've lost my money (I'll leave the edit at that. I'm too angry to think straight).
