I know... long time, no see.
As you can tell by the title, this isn't a normal/conventional journal entry.
If you've commissioned an artist by the name of Nina-Mandarina and didn't receive what you "ordered", then you may want to read this:
Back in June (2014), I commissioned an artist on Deviant Art.
I paid the artist and was told that my commissions would be ready by the end of June.
The end of June passed, so did July. I sent a 'note' on August 6th.
The reply that I had in return was that, the artist was going travelling between the 9th and 19th and, it would be finished after that date.
Weeks passed. I didn't hear anything.
In late October, I went onto the artist's DA page. The last time that she had signed in was six weeks before then. It was then that it was looking less likely that she was going to produce any work... but I (foolishly) believed that she could still "come through" and "produce the goods".
28th December I decided to check out her page again. She (by now) hadn't signed in for fifteen (plus) weeks.
It was then that I realized, that it wasn't just me who had been ''duped'' out of money.
As of now, she hasn't been on DA for 19 weeks...
So, what now?
It doesn't look good. However, a couple of DA members have taken the initiative and, are trying to work out a solution.

*WARNING, Updated*: Commission Fraud*UPDATE* Janurary 28th: I have submitted a formal complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, hoping that they will step in and ask Paypal to help out. I'll keep you guys posted; in the meantime, please take the time to file a dispute with Paypal to bring their attention to this mass fraud.
*UPDATE* January 23rd: As quoted by another client who's been helping out with figuring out what we can do --- "Apparently, if enough of us submit claims against this seller, regardless of the time for complaints having elapsed, they are still on record against the seller. According to the paypal response, if enough complaints against a user are filed, paypal may investigate."
So bottom line, if you paid for your commission through Paypal, submit a claim, even it says it's past the deadline. As long as it's flagged in their system, that's all that matters, so please do it!
The reason that I have created this entry is because, I was contacted by another DA member (Sleyf), who also commissioned this artist and, explained how to open a dispute in the resolution center on the P/Pal site ^^.

's Journal (which is particularly handy, if you've paid via Paypal).
An Artist to Avoid + Take ActionWith regard to my last journal, I have decided that it might be wise to name the artist to avoid - I also do this, as a plea to others who have commissioned her, as I have a plan of action that we can all take to move forward with this case.
I do not want anyone to harass this person. We're all adults and better than that, she is already hiding from dA, and seeing loads of aggression on her page will definitely not encourage her to come back - those concerned have already left her multiple comments requesting responses and are gathering to discuss options - I do not want any mobs bashing her, we're handling this maturely.
The artist in question is :iconnina-mandarina: - please avoid commissioning her at all costs. Also take note of her style, and if you ever happen to notice anything that looks very much like it may be her under a different username, think carefully about commissioning that person as it *may* be her (though not 100% certain,
I did some calculations and figured out that the artist must've taken (about) $500 for the work that she hasn't done (and that's just the people that she had bothered to list on her 'to do' list... Who knows how many people there actually are who have commissioned her).
I think I'll leave it there. If you are one of those people, check out the 'linked' journals.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
EDIT: I've just checked my email and Paypal have told me that, because my claim is over the '180 day period'. They will not be looking into it.
So, either way, I've lost my money (I'll leave the edit at that. I'm too angry to think straight).
